On October 16, 2024, FENESTRITION BAU CHINA (FBC) China International Doors, Windows, and Curtain Walls Expo was grandly opened at the Shanghai National Convention and Exhibition Center. This year, FBC once again leads the Asia Building Systems Solutions Super Exhibition, bringing together over 800 exhibiting companies from around the world to jointly build a future technology ecosystem.

Grand Opening Ceremony

On the opening day, the on-site activities were full of excitement, attracting a large number of industry professionals to stop and learn. FDC Advanced Seminar Curtain Wall Special Session, Future Curtain Wall Technology Conference, Building Complex Skin and Curtain Wall Fine Design, Curtain Wall Renewal and other professional forums have attracted more than 100 technical experts and industry leaders to share their experiences.

These forums focus on cutting-edge topics such as energy-saving new materials, complex building skins, and curtain wall updates, sharing exclusive interpretations of multiple difficult curtain wall cases.

Future Curtain Wall Technology Conference

——Super concepts and super cases

The theme of this conference is to showcase the importance of curtain wall design in architecture and the technical challenges behind it. Through the introduction of several "super cases", the application and development of curtain wall technology in modern architectural design are demonstrated.

Through the presentation of super cases, participants not only felt the harmonious industrial ecology connected by curtain wall design, but also gained a deep understanding of the new architectural realm of Shanghai greenhouse, the ice crystal intention double-layer skin of Nanjing Zhongfen, the rolling and creativity of Wanhua Luhu, as well as the "behind the curtain" difficulties of these three outstanding integrated curtain wall projects.

Mr. Chen Yong, Chief Engineer and Senior Partner of FORCITIS, was invited to preside over the entire meeting.

For this case sharing, we have specially invited Mr. Sun Wei, Deputy Director of Design at Chengdu Wanhua Decoration Center, to share the growth and realization process of Wanhua Luhu C19- DANCING TOWER.

Mr. Hu Xiaocong, Deputy Chief Engineer and Partner of FORCITIS, from the perspective of a curtain wall consultant, analyzed and shared the design process and technical challenges of Wanhua Luhu C19 Tower, including high-end residential development trends, customer demand changes, technological optimization, system design innovation, and cost control.

During the salon seminar, Mr. Hu Xiaocong had in-depth discussions with Mr. Sun Wei, Deputy Director of Design at Wanhua Decoration Center, and Mr. Sun Deyan, Director of Engineering at Xuge China, on multiple topics, especially how to maintain high levels of product quality and results while controlling costs.

Mr. Sun Deyan first shared the response strategies of Xuge as a system supplier during market fluctuations, explored Xuge's development trends in customized system doors and windows, and shared its latest developments in foreign markets. Explained from the supplier's perspective how to assist in the implementation of the Wanhua Luhu C19 quality project.

Subsequently, Mr. Hu Xiaocong shared Foster's new ideas in the transformation of the curtain wall industry, and supplemented some specific technical measures in the Wanhua Luhu C19 project, including the application of BIM technology, material selection, and methods for handling irregular shapes. Especially in the transformation of delivery methods from 2D to BIM, as well as innovative methods for material selection and scheme comparison in handling irregular shapes.

Mr. Sun Wei elaborated on Wanhua's experience in balancing cost control and product quality from the perspective of developers. Emphasize the concepts of Wanhua's long termism and productism, and tell some internal stories of translating these concepts into practice.

Seminar on Fine Design of Complex Skin and Curtain Wall in Architecture

On October 18th, the Future Curtain Wall Technology Forum entered its second day, focusing on the theme of "Complex Building Surface and Fine Design of Curtain Walls".

On site discussions invited project architects and curtain wall design consultants to exchange ideas on how to achieve refined presentation of complex building surfaces through innovative design techniques and reasonable material use. The on-site analysis of projects such as Shanghai Jiushi International Equestrian Center, Nanjing Garden Expo Park Future Garden Cliff Theater and Cloud Pool Stage, Guangzhou Pazhou Ascott Hotel, Nanjing Garden Expo Park Cloud Pool Stage Exterior Wall Construction, Hangzhou Century Center, etc. attracted a large number of curtain wall practitioners to listen.

Mr. Lu Minghua, General Manager of FORCITIS Exterior Wall Nanjing, used the ASCOTT Hotel project in Pazhou, Guangzhou as an example at the seminar to elaborate on innovative practices in the design of complex building skins. He also specifically introduced the design process of tower fins, including the selection process of different schemes and the detailed handling of construction and installation.

Mr. Lu Minghua emphasized the trade-off between the full frame glass+pinch point scheme and the outer frameless+whole piece glass scheme, and analyzed in detail the advantages, disadvantages, and characteristics of each of these two schemes. In addition, he also conducted in-depth discussions on the design scheme of the 25 meter large-span curtain wall at the entrance of the skirt tower, covering the specific implementation details of various design schemes such as fish scale ceiling and entrance lobby curtain wall.
